The TMNT reboot with the controversial alien Ninja Turtles has been shut down and supposedly pushed back until March of 2014. The pre-production staff has been laid off indefinately, which makes one wonder why the date has been merely pushed back and not completely cancelled.
Frankly the fact that TMNT was so good, and it was a loose sequel to the original trilogy; and that it was successful... and they weren't making a sequel to that pisses most TMNT fans off. Then Michael Bay turns them into aliens is ridiculous. It would be like turning Superman into a human mutant... it's too ingrained in the mythos to be drastically changed like that. Maybe this will be the last nail in the coffin for this concept... but we'll see.
